Tension pair from the Future of the Internet V survey (eight pairs, released in eight reports in 2012): respondents chose one of two opposite 2020 statements. quote is the first statement as printed in the report, option_b the second; share_agree is the share choosing quote. Shares are for all 1,021 respondents. The reports say many respondents called their choice a hope, or said the outcome would mix both statements. Non-random sample.
By 2020, the connected household has become a model of efficiency, as people are able to manage consumption of resources (electricity, water, food, even bandwidth) in ways that place less of a burden on the environment while saving households money. Thanks to what is known as "smart systems," the Home of the Future that has often been foretold is coming closer and closer to becoming a reality.
