Most visual art is the result of collaboration between human artists and their intelligent art software.
Grader A: miss
Most visual art in 2009 was not made in collaboration with intelligent software. Tools like Photoshop are instruments, not creative partners. Autonomous art programs such as Harold Cohen's AARON remained unique examples. Generative AI art arrived only around 2022.
Test: Share of visual art made with AI co-creator software: well under 5% by 2014.
Grader B: miss
In 2009 most visual art was not co-created with intelligent software. Digital tools were used, but they were editing tools (Photoshop, Illustrator), not collaborators that generate art. Generative AI image tools reached the mainstream only in 2022 (DALL-E 2, Midjourney, Stable Diffusion), long after 2014. The later backlash against AI art on DeviantArt dates from 2020 onward.
Test: Test: over 50% of visual art made in collaboration with intelligent generative software. 2009-2014: near 0%; generative tools became mainstream in 2022.
