Phones did not routinely include live video in 2009. FaceTime arrived with the iPhone 4 in June 2010, and in 2010 only 7% of US cell owners had made a video call on a phone. Front cameras became standard on new smartphones around 2012-2014, so the video-phone premise came true late.
