By 2009 notebooks (half of PC shipments) routinely shipped with Wi-Fi, and 56% of Americans had gone online wirelessly. Mobile broadband passed 600 million subscriptions worldwide at end 2009. The 'very high bandwidth, reliable, ever-present' part was overstated, but the device feature was standard.
Test: At least 50% of new portable computers shipping with wireless networking: met in 2009; 56% of Americans had used wireless internet access (Pew, April 2009).

Wi-Fi was standard in nearly all 2009 notebooks and in smartphones; 56% of US adults had gone online wirelessly by April 2009. The bandwidth was not 'very high' by later standards, but the routine inclusion is met.
