Mapping the Future of Investment Technologies with Nubank
Envisioning teamed up with the UX research team at Nubank, Latin America’s largest fintech bank, to craft an industry-specific Radar, focusing on the future of investment technologies worldwide and in the region, extending beyond the realm of cryptocurrencies. Their goal was to investigate and evaluate signals of change which might affect their business.
We worked closely with Nubank’s innovation team to ensure that our research aligned with their specific needs. Our approach included an in-depth analysis of each technology, evaluated across multiple impact vectors. By consulting with experts across various fields, we gauged the relevance and potential impact of each technology. In addition, we added a narrative layer to contextualize the technologies within a broader investment landscape, allowing for better understanding and application. As part of the project, we also provided training sessions for Nubank’s staff, equipping them with the skills needed to effectively utilize the radar and leverage the research for strategic decision-making.

We provided a 360º view of the global investment technology landscape, highlighting emerging trends from across the financial sector. The research team not only identified cutting-edge technologies but also conducted Technology Readiness Level (TRL) assessments to determine each technology’s maturity. By diving into the edge of innovation, we helped Nubank stay ahead of future trends and prepared them for potential disruptions in the investment sector.
To support strategic analysis, we designed several indicators to help Nubank evaluate each technology. These metrics included key indicators such as ease of implementation, social acceptance, and regulatory requirements, allowing Nubank to assess technologies according to their priority areas. We spearheaded the data collection process, involving expert consultations and a crowdsourcing initiative to gather diverse perspectives and refine the radar’s content. This ensured that the radar offered a comprehensive and well-rounded view of the future investment technology landscape.
