European Institute of Technology (EIT) Manufacturing’s mission is to unite European manufacturing stakeholders within innovation ecosystems that enhance the value of European products, processes, and services. By highlighting the transformative potential of advanced technologies like digital twins and next-generation supply chains, the radar serves as a strategic guide for innovation. With expert input from industry leaders, we collaboratively assessed the potential impact of each solution, ensuring EIT Manufacturing’s partners are well-prepared to invest in the future of manufacturing.

Our Work

  • Focused on digital twin infrastructure and future-proofing supply chains.
  • Engaged industry experts for comprehensive technology assessments.
  • Live-updating database linked to startups, products, and training resources.
  • Use-case feature enables connections to external use cases for practical insights.

Impact

  • Radar serves as a central resource for the EITM community.
  • Supported member companies in adapting to technological advances.
  • Fostered a collaborative innovation ecosystem in European manufacturing.

EIT Manufacturing partnered with us in a continuous effort to map key emerging manufacturing technologies. Using EITM’s established frameworks for enabling technologies and innovation priorities, we conducted joint research to ensure relevance. Additionally, we set up a custom CMS installation, giving EITM full autonomy to update radar content as needed.

In addition to the standard Technology Readiness Level (TRL), we introduced an Impact Score to assess the broader effects of each technology. We assisted EITM with survey design and developed a scoring methodology for crowdsourced evaluations by key industry stakeholders, providing deeper insights into each solution’s potential.

We developed a multi-layered navigation system to cater to different user personas, from students to investors, making sure different audiences can find the content they are looking for. By clustering emerging solutions, users can explore startups, products, and training within the EITM ecosystem. The radar is connected to a live-updating database, managed by EITM, ensuring up-to-date partners and courses. We also integrated a use-case feature linking directly to external use cases, providing practical, real-world applications.
