In collaboration with L'Atelier, a think tank within the BNP Paribas group in Paris, we conducted several research incursions into themes such as privacy, virtual economies, and social mobility. The goal was to leverage technological trends to inform business strategies, guiding decision-makers through the complexities of a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
One of the standout projects, The Strativerse, focused on the emerging technologies that facilitate increasingly blended realities, where the boundaries between the physical and virtual worlds are continuously blurred. Our research covered key areas such as the Internet of Things (IoT), mixed reality infrastructure, bio-augmentation, AI, and decentralization technologies that are expected to shape the next decade. We combined detailed technological analysis with narrative storytelling, offering a comprehensive and engaging perspective on how these technologies will drive the future of digital transformation.
Our tech research focused on investigating the potential impact of virtual economies on the real economy, exploring how blended realities will reshape industries and society. For The Strativerse project, we utilized our existing technology database as a foundation, expanding it to cover 80 emerging technologies. These technologies were categorized into six key clusters: Immersive Reality, Human Enhancement, IoT, Advanced Manufacturing, AI, and Distributed Systems. Each cluster included an in-depth analysis, complete with drivers and technological trends set to influence these areas over the coming decade.
We systematically categorized and tagged technologies based on key criteria such as Technology Readiness Level (TRL), Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Domains, and Industries. This structured approach provided a detailed, multifaceted view of each technology's potential impact, ensuring relevance for a wide range of stakeholders and industries.
