Razorpay is India's leading business-facing payment infrastructure company, providing payment gateway, business banking (RazorpayX), and lending solutions to over 10 million businesses. The company holds all three key RBI licenses — online payment aggregator, cross-border payment aggregator (secured December 2025), and offline payment aggregator — making it one of the most comprehensively licensed fintech companies in India.

While consumer-facing apps like PhonePe and Google Pay handle peer-to-peer UPI transactions, Razorpay powers the business side: online checkout, subscription billing, payroll processing, vendor payments, and cross-border transactions. In February 2025, Razorpay launched four new product suites including corporate cards with YES Bank and an agentic AI toolkit (RAY) for in-chat transactions.

Razorpay represents a category of Indian fintech that builds infrastructure rather than consumer apps. By solving the complexity of Indian payments — multiple payment methods, diverse tax regimes, complex compliance requirements — for businesses, Razorpay has created a 'financial operating system' for Indian enterprises. The company's expansion into cross-border payments positions it to capture India's growing international commerce, as Indian businesses increasingly sell globally.
