Willo (Europe) developing wireless charging technology that eliminates cables — showcased at CES 2026 as a breakthrough in last-mile power delivery
- Technology Readiness Level: 7/9
- Impact: 2/5
- Investment: 3/5
Willo is developing wireless power transfer technology that delivers electricity without physical connections. Showcased at CES 2026 as part of Europe's deep tech delegation, the technology enables charging of devices, robots, and vehicles without plugging in — a fundamental shift in how power is delivered to mobile systems.

The technology matters most for robotics and autonomous systems: robots that can charge themselves without human intervention by driving over or near a charging pad can operate 24/7. For warehouse robots, delivery drones, and industrial inspection systems, wireless charging eliminates the biggest operational bottleneck — the need for a human to plug in a cable.

Wireless power is also critical for European infrastructure: embedded road charging for electric vehicles, wireless sensor networks for smart cities, and cable-free charging stations that survive harsh weather without mechanical wear. The technology builds on European strength in power electronics (Infineon, STMicroelectronics) and addresses the practical deployment challenges that limit automation in real-world environments.
