This technology is widely used in modern computing devices, including smartphones and laptops, to enhance security in authentication processes, secure boot sequences, and encrypted data storage.
The concept of the Secure Enclave gained traction with the introduction of Apple’s Secure Enclave Processor (SEP) in 2013, implemented in the A7 chip found in the iPhone 5s. Since then, it has become a standard feature in many consumer and enterprise devices, evolving alongside advancements in processor technology and increasing security demands.
