# E-Jet E2 Regional Aircraft

The world's most fuel-efficient single-aisle jet — 30% less fuel per seat than previous generation — with NATO countries and major airlines ordering in volume
- Technology Readiness Level: 9/9
- Impact: 4/5
- Investment: 4/5
Embraer's E195-E2 fills a gap between small regional jets and large narrowbodies (A320/737), carrying 120-146 passengers with 30% lower fuel consumption per seat. LATAM ordered up to 74 units in September 2025; airlines across Africa, Asia, and Europe have placed orders.

The E-Jet family has sold over 1,800 aircraft to 100+ airlines in 50+ countries, making Embraer the world's third-largest aircraft manufacturer after Airbus and Boeing. The E2 generation adds new wings, engines (P&W GTF), and avionics while maintaining the type rating — pilots can switch with minimal retraining.

The strategic significance: Brazil builds commercial aircraft. This is a capability shared by only four countries (US, France/Germany via Airbus, Brazil, China). Embraer's ability to design, certify, manufacture, and support global fleets is a national industrial asset that took 50 years to develop.
